123Carbon and Agendi partner to accelerate adoption of book-and-claim in the US transport and logistics sector

Leiden / New York, July 2025 – 123Carbon, the first, independent carbon insetting platform for multimodal transportation, and Agendi, a global sustainability and climate consultancy firm, announce their strategic partnership to accelerate the adoption of carbon insetting as a means of effectively decarbonizing the transport, logistics and hard to abate industrial sectors. The collaboration aims to simplify carbon insetting implementation for companies seeking to reduce emissions within their supply chains.

The collaboration will help companies integrate book-and-claim solutions into their supply chain decarbonization strategies by combining 123Carbon’s integrated platform with Agendi’s deep implementation expertise and climate consulting services. Together, the partnership will make it easier for organizations to track, allocate, and verify emissions reductions within their value chains.

Using a full transparent public blockchain, 123Carbon enables transport companies to  register, verify, and allocate their low carbon emissions reduction activities in a safe and fully encrypted platform, establishing a immutable Environmental Attribute Certificates (EAC’s). These certificates can then be exchanged with supply chain partners and other companies within the transport sector that are willing to pay the premium to reduce their transport emissions.

Agendi will act as an official implementation and advisory partner for the 123Carbon platform, enabling clients to design and operationalize book-and-claim frameworks that align with the latest industry standards, including those set by Smart Freight Centre and ISO14083. With expertise in book-and-claim standards as well as climate reporting and disclosure, Agendi is uniquely positioned to support organizations in developing inset strategies and book-and-claim programs

Both companies are active partners of Smart Freight Centre (SFC), a global non-profit organization focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from freight transportation, including standard setting for emission calculation and reporting and guidelines for topics such as insetting. SFC developed the widely adopted GLEC Framework, which is used as a basis for the recently launched ISO14083.
